Dear Cheapskater,  

I’m finding it hard to believe that this is the last Cheapskate email of 2023. What a strange year it’s been and how quickly it has gone by. I, for one, am unbelievably excited to have a few days off – I couldn’t feel more ready to crack out the panettone, crank up the heating and put my feet up in front of the TV!

When Georgia and I look back on our year (a Cheapskate version of Spotify Wrapped, if you will), we’re really proud of what we’ve achieved. We’ve massively increased our email audience, appeared on BBC radio 16 times (and BBC News twice!) and run 42 free-to-enter competitions for our readers.

Excitingly, we also partnered with a heap of amazing brands – shout out to the Southbank Centre, LSE Festival, StreetHunt Games, Twelve Stories, Pexmas, Guildhall School, Badass Unicorn, CityStack and Thrive LDN for putting your faith in us! But what we’re proudest of is the fact that we have shared an incredible 528 free events over the year with our audience of more than 12,500 Londoners and London lovers. We’re delighted to have helped so many people get the most out of this incredible city for free, particularly during a time of insanely high living costs.
